Practical Spirituality is also the daily management of your body and mind. You could call this mindfulness.
Beauty and Love are able to flow into this wonderful world through you. In order for this to occur with transparency, you can practice getting out of the way. A practical challenge is to put aside bad habits of mind and speech in order to assist the outflow of Beauty into the world.
Imagine that you are a conduit for the continual Grace or out-flowing Goodness of Creation. What you say, think, and do are part of the process of manifesting this Goodness on Earth.
If you wake up in a bad mood, you can work on correcting that in order for your contribution to be more graceful, beautiful, joyful, and positive.
In your communications with others you can practice peaceful, non-violent communication.
Why would you want to spend your time and energy mentally correcting yourself throughout the day in order to achieve a more positive and beautiful self-expression?
Your choices enable more kindness and love to flow into the world.
When you make the choice to engender love and kindness through your interactions with the world, you are practicing practical spirituality. As you continue to monitor your behavior, thoughts, and words, you are taking responsibility for your own practical spirituality. You create a more beautiful and loving world through your intentions, words, deeds, and thoughts.
It’s practical. And it takes practice. You could could also choose to nurture fear or hate. What kind of world do you want? You can decide.
You can set your Intention to manifest Beauty and Love throughout the day.
And then you can practice. During the day, in the different situations that you encounter, take a moment to assess your condition. Before action or speech, check yourself.
• Pause and breathe. Slow calm breaths.
• Check your emotional and mental state. What are you thinking about? How do you feel?
• Check how your Body feels. Are you tight? Loose and relaxed? Is your attention drawn to any particular area of your body?
Then make adjustments:
You can calm down if you are too agitated.
You can rise from a lethargic state into a more present and active awareness.
You can control a too active mind.
You can allow anger or any unbalanced emotion to pass.
If you are stiff, stretch. Walking or moving a bit may help.
